How we keep children safe
DRAFT — not reviewed by a lawyer and not in force. Written from what the software does today, for qualified counsel to review. Square-bracketed items are details only the company can supply.
What the service does not have
- No chat and no messages between users. Children cannot contact each other or anyone else. We will not add this without a separate safeguarding review.
- No advertising, no behavioural tracking, no analytics or third-party trackers in the product today, and we do not sell personal information.
- No child accounts or passwords. A parent or guardian signs in, adds the child and gives consent; a short play session is then started on the device.
- No personal details from children. We ask only for a first name or nickname and a birth year. Please never use a full name, photo, address, phone number or school.
What a parent or guardian controls
- Consent for each child profile, which can be withdrawn at any time.
- An optional daily limit on game rounds.
- Download of the child’s data, erasing the child’s profile, and deleting the whole account, all from the family page.
- Whether a class code is used to share progress with an educator, which can be stopped at any time.
- Approval of any reward a child requests.
Content quality
Lessons and games are checked by the team. Every game and lesson has a “Something wrong?” button with five fixed reasons and no free-text box, so a child cannot type personal information into it. Lesson fact-checking is ongoing: some lessons are still awaiting review by a qualified outside reviewer [status to be updated when reviews are complete].
If something goes wrong
Email support@happylearningkids.com [address to be confirmed by the company]. If a child is in danger, contact your local emergency services or a child-protection helpline in your country [helpline details per market: to be added by the company]. We do not provide emergency support.
